STL

The Support Teacher Learning (STL) role is attached to Carnarvon School of the Air through the Centre for Inclusive Schooling (CIS) and is involved is assisting teachers in supporting students at education risk (SAER).

Some of the STL duties include:

• Sourcing and assisting in whole school standard assessment
• Analysing school assessment data to help inform school planning
• Developing Individual Education Plans collaboratively with Teachers to support SAER
• Attending a one week training course at CIS every semester
• Liaising with Allied Health agencies to formally assess students and receive professional learning support
• Presenting workshops at Home Tutor Seminars to support Home Tutors in relevant educational aspects and issues
• Assist Teachers with home visits to student stations.
• Source professional development opportunities for Teachers in areas they can best support SAER students.

This is a diverse role that requires regular and effective communication with the many stakeholders involved in teaching a student at School of the Air.
